- 5.0 out of 5 stars from James Cantrell -- Another winner from Taylor Andreson : Although I'm a voracious reader of alt history, there is no author I enjoy more than Taylor. His Destroyermen series has been a huge favorite of mine since I picked up book 1 all those years ago. Now he's taking us to another origin story of travelers out of time and dimension winding up on a world so similar, but entirely quite different than the one they left behind. This whole world has been exiciting to visit once a year but I need and ending. Keep up the good work. Love the Destroyermen series and looking forward to this one. But please not 50-70 Books. If you liked Taylor's writing style, this first of hopefully many, sat approximately 100 years prior, is just for you. I was concerned it was more of the same but it's just as engaging with relatable characters. I had kept thinking something was familiar then it hit me, this was the same dimension the destroyermen are but much earlier.could be a prequel or just yet another dimension or something else and I've missed it entirely. The story takes place several years in the past and once again are based around American military with the main character being intensely involved in saving his men and those around him that come under is umbrella. Intense civil war style battles with a Dominion beginning to truly embrace the evil religion is full blown in the destroyer men series.
